Today we celebrate our freedom as a country and are so blessed to live here in America. I wanted to share a song called Fantasy on America the Beautiful by Elizabeth Swift. Here is the link to the song.
This selection would be great for performing or teaching late intermediate and early advanced pianists. Swift takes the melody of the patriotic song, yet creates a new "fantasy" with various dynamics, tempos, and crossing hands. The fluid piece written in Eb is elegant and bold, allowing the listener to have impressionism soaking within. The piece is worth checking out.
