Happy Winter Solstice

This is a new selection for me called Building a Snowman by Howard Blake from the movie short called The Snowman. Enjoy this lighthearted theme from a film I should watch about a boy who builds a Snowman that comes to life, taking him on adventures. The music is written in the key of D Major, yet many times C# is replaced with a C Natural, plus other accidentals. Howard Blake creates various dynamics throughout the song, including p-ff, crescendos, and decrescendos. The music is written in 6/8 and flows throughout the piano keys, utilizing various scale degrees and arpeggios, which is my favorite part. Hopefully, at some point, I can teach this music and other songs from this book to my students.
