Let Us Break Bread Together

As we prepare for Thanksgiving, let's make time to "break bread" with family and friends. This old African American Spiritual, possibly created in the late 1800's, express slaves desire to be closer to God. They sang on their knees, praise God for all He did through the life of Jesus' death, burial and resurrection. Today the song is about communion, taking the elements that representing his body and blood, the ultimate sacrifice of love for all people.

This brings joy in my heart, yet humbles me too. The God who loves me, is still willing to forgive me of my sins. That's why we "break bread" this season, because of Jesus' love for us. This beautiful arrangement by Kenon D. Renfrow, from Alfred Publishing is a reflective song to learn and teach. Hope you enjoy this song. What are some of your favorite reflective songs?

Hope you and your family have a wonderful Thanksgiving. Thanks for your support. Blessings.
