Lofty Goals for 2025
Before 2025 arrived, my entire family had dealt with tons of sickness and by the beginning of the year in Wichita, Kansas we had several "intense" blizzards, plus it snowed another inch yesterday. So running a business has been very different this year. Mostly been meeting with my in-person students online, which is great, since it stretches me as an educator. Yet that being said, I still want to try some new ideas for my students.
My ultimate goal is to serve others, so they are successful to their ultimate potential, through various techniques, exercises, opportunities, and whatever they need. This is my business goal.
Some of my lofty goals are getting extra money to purchase plays for my students and summer camps. I'm looking at wanting to get the play "The Enchanted Bookshop" by Todd Wallinger through Pioneer Drama, "A Mystery Murdered Vitural Play" by Karl Garner also through Pioneer Drama. These plays are going to cost a lot, so I'll have to save and work hard for them. I also would like to try the play Flora and Ulysses by John Glore from Plays for Young Audiences.
Started working on the song Cups (When I'm Gone) from Pitch Perfect with a lot of my students, so we can make a virtual choir, learning the cup rhythms too. I have copies of a medley from Into the Woods that I obtained last year, yet it didn't work. I would like to try it again this year. With some of my younger female students want to start working on I'm So Blessed by Cain.
Found a piano Quartet of "You'll Be Back" from Hamilton that I want to try as a virtual performance for my students.
Plus I'm working on a Spring Break Music Showchoir Camp called Dancing Through the Decades and several summer camps, including music from both Sister Act movies, Disney Villians, plus a play. On top of that working for Parks and Rec this summer.
Plus I'm trying to return to some lofty piano solos for myself to learn. Lizst's Hungarian Rhapsody, Beetoven's Moonlight Sonata Movement 3, Etude of a Dreamer by Jennifer Thomas, Ode to Joy Lizst's piano transcript. in addition, I started trying Chopin's Fantaisie-Impromptu.
So what am I doing with the lofty goals, just taking it one step at a time. That's all I can do. Print off music for camps, listen to songs, watch YouTubes of the plays. Even though I don't have some of the materials in my hand, I can still do my part and trust God for His part and timing.
Just found this quote. Dream and act on your dreams.
I'm not sure what will occur this year, yet these are goals that I desire to work on. What are you trying that's "bigger than yourself"? I would really like to know. Thanks for your support. Blessings.
