Today was a fun day playing some new Halloween Games, at least to me, that the students loved so much. One of them is a Grand Staff Candy Corn Matching Game from the Tattooed Piano Teacher, I just came upon her site earlier this week. The Google File is underneath the pictures. Pheonix is a piano teacher with creative ideas for us to help our students be successful. My student really enjoyed the game, identifying the notes he recognized. Once you get the link, download the game, print it off, and, of course, you can laminate it. This game will be great for individual and group lessons this month, perhaps as a race. Your students will love the candy corn bright-colored cards.
Finished product of most of the notes.
The second game is from Chrissy Ricker, called Spooky Rhythm Cards. Here is the link:
Chrissy created a short way to explain Quarters, Eighth, and Sixteenth Notes with combinations of Eighth and Sixteenth. She uses words to delineate the rhythms, including:
Ghost- Quarter Note
Spooky- Eighth Notes
Terrifying- Sixteenth Notes
Halloween- Two Sixteenth Notes and an Eighth Note
Spine Chilling- One-Eighth Note with Two Sixteenth Notes
I had my online student clap the rhythms I put on the floor, and the student loved it so much. We mixed up various rhythms, and the student was very successful. If you're looking for a new way to teach rhythm with your students this Halloween, consider this game as an option.
What new games are you utilizing this Halloween? Would like to know. Thanks for your support. Blessings.
