Newsies at Brooks Middle School
Since late August, I've been trying to play through the piano score of Newsies Jr, and I'm having a blast learning the score. This is one of my many favorite musicals, and I'm so delighted to be a part of this show. Thanks, Brooks Middle School, for allowing me the chance to accompany the cast.
The music is high-energy, and the story represents a part of American History that may be difficult to discuss, as young kids were put into the workforce at very young ages. The story provides opportunities for the young characters to become so strong and powerful that they take over the entire city of New York, allowing people to understand that child-labor laws are needed.
I was also blessed to choreograph three of the songs: King of New York, Seize the Day, and The Finale. Working with the students has been a tremendous blessing in serving the school well. If you can attend the performances November 22nd-23rd. It would be awesome to see you there. Here is a flier about the cost and time of the performances.
What are you doing that's a bit beyond yourself, yet you're trying? I would like to know. Thanks for your support. Blessings.
