Student Learning to Arranging Piano Song

Last week a new student and I talked about turning popular songs into minor keys. The student was inthralled, to the point that we spent a late portion creating an an arrangement of Itsy Bitsy Spider. The student loved the idea and wanted to take a moment to share her "creation". This sparked more excitement within me, that I want to try to do more of this with our students. I love when they compose and arrange songs. Gives them ownership of something, developing confidence.
