Vocal Rehearsal for Summer Project
Yesterday was a blessing working with some of my students on four vocal songs we will present on August 8th. We were missing two students, yet one of the guys is not one of my students (he's a student's best friend). I at least asked if he wanted to sing and he said yes. The students have been diligently working very hard on Do Re Mi, We Go Together, Teach Him a Lesson, and One Short Day. Teach Him a Lesson (from Back to the Future the Musical) opened opportunities for one of the guys to solo, while the rest of us are backup singers. The ladies get to play Glinda and Elphaba, while the gentlemen are Tourists from The Emerald City.
I was overwhelmed in the best possible way. My heart was full of joy, being with such amazing musicians. What a tremendous blessing to serve our community with music and theater. If you're able to attend the Summer Project, where my voice and piano students will be sharing music from Movies and Broadway Musicals, I would really love to have you there. What are areas in music and theater that bring you joy? Thanks for your support. Blessings.
